Welcome to our Envelope Challenge!
Barrie Families Unite (BFU) is changing the trajectory of people’s lives 365 days a year. BFU provides dignified FREE access to essential needs: groceries, toiletries, seasonally appropriate clothing, and start over kits in a variety of crisis situations.
BFU helps individuals directly and assists dozens of local agencies. Our goal is to ensure Barrie residents have dignified access to, for example, foods for specific dietary needs, clothing for newcomers who have never experienced winter, and families in crisis moving to new housing.
How do we do this?
Our tagline is “Community Caring for Community.” We engage with all demographics in Barrie to get people to step in and get involved! We continue to service the growing needs of our community through the kindness and caring of our many volunteers and supporters.
How YOUR donation today helps people in your own neighbourhood:
- $50 donation helps provide a diabetic senior with NUTRITIOUS food that meets their specific dietary requirements.
- $100 donation helps provide a newcomer from a warm country with a winter clothing kit that includes a warm winter jacket, boots, pants, shirts, a hoodie, some new underwear and socks.
- $150 donation helps outfit a single mom and her two daughters who’ve just fled a domestic violence situation with a start over kit containing items such as linens, towels, pots & pans, dishes, kettle, toaster, cutlery, and glassware.
